Regular feeding of fish and invertibrates in a marine aquarium soon
leads to an unacceptable level of pollution with organic substances.
The range of Deltec Turbo Skimmers offer a simple and effective
solution.By using a Deltec
Turbo skimmer protein is being removed before it is converted to
nitrite/nitrate.
Operating Principles:
Deltec Turbo Skimmers re commomnly used in conjunction with an
external sump filter. One or more modified submersible pumps is / are fitted with a
special patented, needle impellor. This special pinlike structure of the pump impellor
provides at 3000 rpm an intensive mixing of air, water and unwanted substances. Air is
drawn in automatically through an air intake adaptor; a separate air pump is not required.
The
extremely fine water/air mixer is pumped into the contact tube of the protein skimmer. The
rotation of the air/water mixer provides a long contact time with the pollutants resulting
in a highly efficient performance. The skimmed water then passes through a removable
container before flowing over a height adjustable weir and through a de-gassing chamber
and back into the filter sump. The chamber can be filled with charcoal or other filter
material. When using ozone, charcoal filtration is required!
No feed pipes required. To be used in
sump only. |
